"Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen {Books}

Jane Austen is regarded as one of the best English writers till date and her novels are all classics. She is, undoubtedly, best known for "Pride and Prejudice". The novel has been and will always be a favorite with all the romance loving people. There would hardly be an avid reader who has not read this novel. Many people would no doubt pick up the book just to satisfy their curiosity of its prominence and not put it down until they have turned its last page.

I, definitely, am a great fan of this novel. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are, probably, the next lovers in line after Romeo and Juliet. Their quarrels, her pride, his arrogance, the society satire all give a nice mix of a great novel which is prominent even today. The difference in Jane Austen's writings come from the fact that she is so sensitive to the human nature and their behavior and her ability to draw it so visually. From page1, where Mrs. Bennett dreams of getting at least one of her daughters married in high society, to the last page, of the prosperity of her elder daughters, the effects of such prosperity on her family and the destiny of her youngest one who has married a crook, everything is just a picturesqueness of the family, the effect of society, the misgivings of carrying a title and culture of old England.
