Tribute to Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is synonymous with the latest gadgets we hold in hand and I feel really sorry that this visionary and innovator is no more. He has been battling with cancer for quite some years now and recently stepped down from the post of CEO but I surely didn't expect him to die so soon. He was one of the different thinkers of the world and changed the face of technology by combining it with elegance and beauty. I don't think I can ever forget his dictum "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish".

Born on February 24th, 1955, he was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. Steve Jobs wasn't even a college graduate but he did take few calligraphy courses which formed the bases for the most beautiful fonts you have ever seen. He started Apple, introduced Macintosh, got fired from his job, brought one of the best technologically strong workstation NeXT, started the animation company Pixar and gave us movies like Toy Story and Ratatouille and Finding Nemo and Up (I am sure no one can call these movies kiddish). And, then, he returned again to Apple and then, the boom into the portability of technology, iPod. iTunes, iPhone and iPad followed the success of iPod pretty quickly. He has his nae in 338 US patents or the patent applications.

He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2004 and underwent an operation for the treatment which was supposed to be successful but his health steadily deteriorated over the years though not him or anyone else acknowledged it. Then, he underwent a liver transplant and finally resigned Apple on 24th August, 2011. And, he passed away on October 5th, 2011.
